Troubleshooting Deco LAN speed is capped at 100m/s
Occasionally we received some feedback about the slow LAN speed from Deco and the typical description would be: "my internet bandwidth is over 200/500m/s, but I only got about 100m/s from Deco". After troubleshooting with different users, the following causes are confirmed to be relevant.
(Note, if the model is Deco E4, you might get the wrong model since Deco E4 is up to 100m/s.)
- The Total bandwidth under QoS is set to be 100/100 m/s.
If you happen to have the same case, please change it to be 1000/1000 m/s.
Visit this guide to configure the QoS settings on the Deco.
- The WAN link speed is capped at 100m/s.
The WAN link speed might be caused by different reasons. The first one would be the Ethernet cable between the modem and main Deco. Please replace it with a good quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
If in any case, the issue persists after checking the first two conditions, we need more information to locate the problem:
1. Are all the Deco units capped at 100m/s or just one of the satellite units?

2. Please connect a laptop via Ethernet cable to the main Deco and check the link speed on the laptop to verify whether it is 1G or 100m/s.

@TP-Link I have a deco X20 DSL. I recently changed my SIP to one using fiber, and set up my deco as a router. It does allow me to get to a speed of 500mb,however connecting to the LAN ports sets the connection speed to 100mb only. I'm not using QoS. What might be the issue?

@TP-Link I have a 4 deco AX3000 setup in my place.
They are all wired thru cat6 ethenet cables.
My ISP connection is 500mb up n down.
If I reset the whole network I get like 1 or 2 hours of 500mb everywhere.
After 2 hours, everything gets capped at 100mb. up n down.
I tryed reseting switches, resetting the main deco everyday (with a smart socket), but In every case I get 2 hours of the speed Im paying for and then 100mb.

@DanZlotnik this, it is happening to me as well, is there any fix on this tplink?
Operation mode: AP (since i connect all my deco to ethernet cable) so the fix of setting QoS is not available.
Temporary fix: rebooting all the deco will go up to 300mbps but after sometime it will capped back to 100mbps.
I have seen many comments about our same situation already here in the community but it was not addressed at all.
I hope you will provide a permanent solution about this issue, It is very frustrating that we need to always reboot just to get the internet that we paid for.

@TP-Link my M4's are now suddenly limited in speed to 100mbps
I have gigabit Internet and was getting well over 300 before?
I can find qos settings on android app.
Help please was all OK

My notifications came up as GIGA BYTE connected then went to notifications and it said its been removed.
I bet this is something to do with it I think ever since its been slow 100mbps
What can I do this is not good.

@TP-Link In my case, it was the cable that I used to connect the Internet router to the Deco M4 unit. It was the flat cable that came with the M4. Do not use that. Instead, use a proper CAT 6a cable. It was easy to spot on the router itself, which showed the M4 being connected to its LAN port at only 100 MBit/s negotiated speed.
