A friend has an ethernet port in a room but almost no wifi coverage. We are looking for a neat unobtrusive solution. Can we plug an RE205 into the wall socket and connect it to the adjacent live RJ45 and use it as a wireless access point? The only picture I could see shows its ethenet port as a downstream connecction. If not, is there a small AP that would do the job?

RE205 can work as an access point, transforming your existing wired network to a wireless one.  Here is the instruction to set up RE as an Access Point:
