  @YouSeeStefan

hey, I think they said a few days ago that it will be available in a few weeks. My guess is it should be available through the app, you shouldn't have to download it from the website.

  @MarvinZH @3dPhil

Hi, the official firmware has improved the network performance issue that was reported on the beta firmware.

@Schueler

I think the disconnection might be related to the Ethernet Backhaul on Deco.

Do you have a network switch between the main Deco M9 plus and 4 other satellite Deco M9 plus units?

It is also suggested to have a look at this link:

General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco Q5+Q6

Best regards.

  @rekeen01   @iresLeandro  @LaurieR

Thanks for the feedback.

Due to the flat design of the Deco M9 plus, its outer cover is closer to the cooling module and you may feel warmer than the models having a cylinder design, like Deco M4. However, it's confirmed strictly that Deco could work continuously without any problems/safety hazards at a room temperature of 40 °C/104°F due to the test results in TP-Link's lab.

So A cool and well-ventilated environment is ideal for Deco products, it is suggested to:

1. Put your Deco in the open, do not cover your Deco with any objects, avoid placing your Deco in a closed space, and don’t let it suffocate.

2. Avoid placing your Deco on top of any running electronic devices. Putting two electronic devices together would greatly increase the surrounding temperature, which is bad for the Deco and the device beneath it.

3. Keep your Deco away from direct heat (like fireplaces and space heaters) or excessive sunlight.

4. Use the original power adapter that came with the Deco.

5. If possible, You may find a mounting bracket for Deco products. In this case, the heat dissipation will be better than before.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Just checked my primary M9 with an IR thermometer "gun" - it's 34.5C. (Room temp is 20C).

(ps still on 1.5.6 firmware)

yes. It's insanely hot. The tech that came to install my internet said he's never seen a router that hot before and said he was concerned.

  @David-TP

I have it installed 1.6.0 for a while on 3 deco m9 v1 and 2 deco m9 v2. One of the deco m9 v1 is the router.

I noticed that every now and than one of the 4 other deco's are unreachable. All are hard wired to the router. After a while there are back and connected.

I am not able to track down why they disappear and come back.

Is this a familiar issue?

  @David-TP  any idea if the official release will contain bug fixes that are present in the 1.6 beta?  I see the m5 is already on 1.6.1

also why does the cheaper m5 seem to take priority in the dev and release of firmware over the more premium m9+?
