Feedback from the lazy TP-LINK support and developers...
So, no commitment at all.
And they mention "Soon". 2,5 YEARS after the previous release.
Can you all please request these people when they will release 1.6 for Deco M9 plus? When much people request for it, it could speed up things: zoe.ma@tp-link.com and ives.lin@tp-link.com

Dear Customer,
We cannot confirm the exact timing, the testing department will need to complete a complete series of tests to confirm that there are no general problems with the released firmware. If all goes well, the final round of testing will be completed soon.

did it... don't think it will help much though...
I'm currently looking into other brands to upgrade to a wifi 6e/7 mesh network.
Other b.s. like not being able to select a wifi channel for deco's is "ok" / not the biggest issue for consumer usage
but not bringing simple fw updates while the cheaper version is already having all the features (for i don't even remember how long) is crazy.
And not even reply on your own community forum is insane!

@gabardine Thank you very much for your email.
@HopSaSam nice to see you again.
As for the release date, actually, you might see I mentioned several times that no ETA could be guaranteed. If there is, I am sure it will be updated here without hesitation.
Since the beta firmware has been tested for a while and the final round of testing will be completed soon as the engineer replies, the official firmware is on the way. So if the feature you are urgently needed is supported in the beta version, please use the beta firmware first while waiting for the official version. If it is not even supported in the beta firmware, It might not be supported on the official one either. If after installing the beta firmware, the network performance got downgraded and you could temporarily revert back to 1.5.6.
Thank you a lot.
Best regards.

It would be great to get an official release of the 1.6 firmware for the m9 plus.
I rely on my wifi for working from home so would prefer non-beta firmware if at all possible.

I received a 'marketing' email from TP-Link on February 10, 2023, with a blurb at the very bottom about firmware version 1.6.0
From the Team:
Our Community Forums have received a lot of attention this last week. You are now able to sort the order of replies. no more having to find the last page of a thread to stay up to date!
If you are a Deco user, you may also want to check for an available firmware update, as the 1.6.0 firmware has been released to additional models. Further Information regarding the features and supported models can be found on our Deco Forum Module.

The link went to this (US) TP-Link Forum post, which indicates that v1.6.0 has moved into official release for the M9Plus. However, as of today, 2-weeks later, it is still not showing up as official in either the Deco App, or in the TP-Link Download Center for V1 or V2 units. (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-m9-plus/v2/#Firmware)
So... what's the hold up here?

Good news, the M5 version has another update before the M9.... I just have no idea anymore why I ever upgraded to the more expensive M9 as all the new features and fixes are prioritized for the M5.

@Frankie_G77 Thanks for your time and patience.
I see the official firmware 1.6.0 of Deco M9 plus is on releasing process. I think the firmware will be ready in the next two weeks.
Best regards.
