I tried the reset button but only the name is reset and when I want to open it in the app it still asks for username and password which I have forgotten

 Hello  @Nautilus67 

For old version range extenders, the local login username and password are both 'admin' in lower case. 

For new version range extenders, after the factory reset, it will let you create a new login password.
