I own a 3-pack of deco x20 the deco x20 worked fine for me as I bought it locally in Pakistan and I recently bought another 3-pack of deco x60 from Malaysia when I came back and set it up and set it as the main deco. Whole Network is stuck on channels 36 to 48 for 5G. My X60 is X60 (US) v2.0 and I have seen that deco mesh available in Pakistan are also US variant so I think so there is modified firmware that makes it work on channel 147 to 161. 

 

Moreover, I also tested that when x20 is set as Main Deco the x60 deco also provides Channel 161. So that clearly means it can support these bands. I want to set Deco x60 as Main Deco to get the max advantage out of mesh.


I would be glad if anyone from TP-Link support provide me some solution for it

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

Have you noticed any issue on Deco X60 When it is working on band 1(36-48)?

If only the Deco X60 3-pack is powered on, after restarting the Mesh system, will the 5ghz channel change to another one?

Hi

 

Well, the main issue with Channel 36-48 is that in Pakistan all of our mobile devices work between 147-161. So mobile phones only get 2.4g and 5g band(36-48) only works with laptops.

When I set any of Deco X60 as the Main Deco of the network and hare x60 and x20 set as nodes. The 5G wifi channel switches to 36 and makes me unable to use the 5G band over mobile phones.

Whereas when any X20 is set as Main Deco it broadcasts the 5G Channel 147-161 from all Decos including X60

 

--My Network (Right Now)--

ISP 

-LoadBalancer 480T+

-Deco X20(v4) (Main) --- Bought Locally

-2x Deco X20 as Mesh Node

-3x Deco X60(v2) as Mesh Node -- Bought from Malaysia

 

One of my friends has x60(3pack) he bought locally that works over 147-161 channels so I assume these channel ranges are set in firmware for every region

 

I just want to set my x60 as Main Node
