for information
I've been having problems with the memory card storage on my Tapo C110 camera for some time, I've been using a sandisk micro  sdxc ultra 128gb card, after reformatting and only one person detection , the memory card was full and unable store any more detection clips

I used the HS2test app to check the sd card which was fine,

the chat support was a hopeless, kept telling me to lower the resolution which didn't work , I should have been able to store hours of videos at 2K resolution on a 128gb card

 when I checked the card on my PC, there were multiple mp4 files, along with some other file types, taking up 119gb of the memory,  which was puzzling, after a few reformats it was still the same,.

I then decided to reformat one final time, this time I turned off all the detection modes so no videos were stored, then again I checked the card on the PC , again there were multiple mp4 files and 119 gb of memory used up, for some reason every time the card was formatted it was adding corrupt mp4 files, why, I've no idea, so I deleted all the mp4 files, but not the other files file types, I inserted the card into the camera , I turned on the AI detection and tested it again on the 2K setting , this time it was fine, using a fraction of the memory for each person detection

  @Bigdw

Hello,
Generally, if you format the microSD card on the Tapo app, you will see multiple MP4 files on the SD card, and they are named xxxxxxxx_000000_tp00001.mp4, xxxxxxxx_000000_tp00002.mp4, and so on. However, these MP4 files cannot be played or opened as there are no recordings in them, and the actual video recordings will overwrite the files one by one.
You can refer to the link >'What if the video recordings cannot be played?' section to know more info.

If your SD card is working fine now, please enjoy the features of the camera with this SD card, and if the same issue happens, please help collect the following information for further analysis.
1. Please send me a purchase link for your Sandisk SD card. What's the format of your SD card?
2. Please send me a picture of the error message that appears on the Tapo app showing that the memory card was full.
3. After you format the SD card on the Tapo app, please connect it to the PC and then send me a picture of the files stored in the SD card.

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

the trouble is it will not overwrite the mp4 files ,  that is the problem, the only way is to delete them manually

  @Solla-topee

the firmware is up to date, after a few hours of person detections , it tells me the card needs to be reformatted,when I reformat it , I have to manually delete all the dummy mp4 files that the reformat loads onto the memory card, this happens everyday , it is set to loop recording
