IoT Network Option

Model: X73-DSL

Hardware Version: V1

Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 20230720 rel.51373

Model: X60

Hardware Version: V3.2

Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20230601 rel.37750

I used to have a network with X60s. Here the X60s were connected to my modem which is given by ISS. I changed this whole system yesterday. I bought an X73-DSL and I deleted my older network an created new network with X73-DSL. I connected it to the wan ports on the back. So, I made a connection via Wan, not DSL. I currently have a system where X73-DSL is the main deco and three X60s are running alongside it. In addition my network types is router not acces point. The IoT network I used to use was very important to me, but I can't reach it now. Additionally, I think IoT networks should have an SSID hiding feature. I will be grateful if you could help me.

And also I need add something, when I try to open the new device alert in the connection alerts section, I get the error "Details could not be saved." I've been trying to turn off growth since yesterday, and I also reset my network, but it didn't work. The X73-DSL probably needs a firmware update.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco X73-DSL does need further firmware upgrades to support the IOT network and other software features on Deco X60_V3.

Since you are not using Deco X73-DSL as the DSL modem router, I think there is no need to use X73-DSL as the main Deco. You could keep using X60_v3 and have the IOT network back.

Thank you very much and best regards.

I have the same issue, I think you have the same configuraiton the x73-DSL is needed to be the main device according to the TP-Link documentation, and mine is in the "DSL Modem Router (Default)" mode (under advanced/operation mode), with 3 Deco x60's 2 hard wired backhall one Wifi.

Firmware status is uptodate as follows:
Deco X73-DSL FW: 1.0.10 Build 20230810 Rel. 50395
Deco X60 (x3) FW: 1.2.4 Build 20230601 Rel. 37750
With this there is no iOT network, please help.

Did you have any luck with this? I am facing the same issue. I have 3 x X50 Decos that were showing an IoT wifi network when connected to the Telstra modem. I have since purchased the X73-DSL and now I cannot active the IoT wifi!?!

Like you, I have mine setup as "DSL Modem Router" as this is required to provide the internet for the network.

None of the DSL Decos will support IoT and other features like VPN and client conneciton preference until they get a firmware upgrade which I am begining to think will never happen.

I have an X20-DSL and it's been nearly a year since those features made it to the regular X20 but I can't use them as my X20-DSL is the main Deco. Very frustrating.

@omrkdglu this is so frustrating!  You would think if the X50 Deco did IoT network then at $350 X73-DSL would!  Great work  TP-Link.

I just spent 4hrs removing and re-adding all my smart home devices to my network.  Not how I thought this was going to go.
