Hello Everyone!

It's been 3 months since I purchased the TP-Link Archer MR600. I appreciate the features of the MR600, such as Carrier Aggregation Technology. However, I'm disappointed to say that my LTE carrier provider is not providing the minimum connection speed I need. As a solution, I decided to purchase Starlink to ensure smooth online work.

I have 2 personal computers, but Starlink only comes with 1 ethernet adapter. I'm wondering if I can use the MR600 as an external router for Starlink. Please let me know. I'm not very familiar with the settings of the MR600, so I'm hoping someone with expertise on this device can provide advice. The most popular external router for Starlink in our country is the Mikrotik Router. Is it possible that the MR600 can perform better?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi, you could follow this guide to set up wireless router mode on MR600: How to set up Wireless Router mode and 3G/4G Backup on TP-Link LTE Gateway

Note: if you do not want to use 4G mobile network any more, there is no need to enable 3G/4G Backup.

After configuring it as wireless router mode, it will act as a regular router, and you could follow this thread to connect it to starlink network:

How to Connect and Set up a TP-Link Router (or Third-party Router) to Starlink Internet

Hello, it works fine, but how do I know if the 3G/4G backup connection is working? I mean, is there an indicator in the TP-Link UI that shows which internet connection is currently active Starlink or 3G/4G?

Hi, you could find internet information on Basic->Network Map page and Advanced->Status page, if it shows anything about 4G LTE, it means it uses 3G/4G backup, if not, it means it uses regular WAN.
Or you could also check the Regular WAN Interface Status on Advanced->Network->Internet page, if it shows connected, it uses the Starlink, if it is disconnected and you still have internet, it must be using 3G/4G Backup.

You could also plug and then unplug the WAN cable for comparison.
