Model: Deco XE75

Firmware Version:

hi,

Currently I have 2 Deco M4 units setup in AP-mode. Main wifi network is 2.4GHz, Guest network is running both 2.4 and 5

I have bought  a XE75. Does it matter how I add it, since only this unit can supply Wifi 6E? Can I just add it to the existing network? Or should I reset the 2 existing M4s and start over and setup the XE75 as the first main router with the existing wifi networks and passwords?

Hi, Do you still plan to set Deco XE75 into AP mode?

If yes, it doesn't make much difference which unit is the main Deco. I used to see that one user wanted to use Deco XE75 as the satellite Deco since his only 6GHz-capable device is often away from the main unit.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Thanks. Yes,good, because I got some Sonos problems,so I set it back. Will instead connect the XE75 as a satellite, and hopefully it works that way. Sonos is extremely sensitive in my experience. If the network is changed, does not matter3if the password is the same, the app must be reset. I also factory reset the Sonos equipment, but not 100% sure that was necessarry also.

Actually, see no option for 6GHz network now. So I think I still have to set this up with XE75 as main AP. The router is a FW box. Hopefully I sort out any Sonos problems.

Hi, thanks for the update.

Actually, you should still get the 6 GHz network even though Deco XE75 is the satellite Deco. I tested it before since some users asked the same question as well and 6GHz should still be there.

PS: Sometimes, the Deco APP might need some time to fully upload the wireless settings.

Best regards.

Yes. Anyhow I used the app to switch the main router from the old to the XE75, and after rebooting all3 , it worked flawlessly. If I disconnect from the 6E network, I cannot reconnect, but then I jst reboot my phone (Pixel 8 Pro).
