Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 build 20231122 Rel. 40485

I have a vpn server set up in a remote location with both openvpn and pptp options,  I can connect to said vpn server using both protocols from a different router and from a device connected via the problematic Deco x50.

From the deco x50 itself I get the issue of vpn client showing as connecting on both pptp and openvpn. I changed the dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 no improvement, same result.

As mentioned,  the vpn server is accessible via a different router and via phone connected through the deco, the deco itself will not connect and I need it to connect so I can enable the vpn on specific clients that do not have the vpn client option,  any ideas or tips?

My vpn server is Archer vr2100v if it makes any difference...

Thank you!

  @PumbaMunich

Hi, Are you able to send some VPN serve configuration screenshots on the VR2100V and a copy of the OpenVPN config file to support.forum@tp-link.com?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @PumbaMunich

Hi, Thank you for the email and the files have been received.

All configuration seems perfect. Have you also enabled the VPN server on the Deco X50? The default VPN subnet is also 10.8.0.0 so I wonder whether there might be any conflict.

If yes, it is suggested to disable the VPN server on the Deco first.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you for your reply. No the Deco x50 does not have VPN Server enabled on it, just the vpn client that I am trying to configure and gets stuck on connecting.

is there any way to see the logs of what is happening in background in the deco to see why it is stalling on connecting? or do you have any other ideas/tips?

Thank you!

  @frankie_228

@caloy03

Thank you very much for the feedback.

May I know which VPN server would Deco be set to connect to?

What is the VPN client status on the Deco APP, connected or connecting?

Have you tried the suggestions here:

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP I am trying to setup VPN Unlimited by KeepSolid.

I tried several servers but the status is just connecting.  I already reached out to their customer service and they confirmed servers are up and running.

I already tried the steps provided on the website but still the same issue.
