I just ordered and received a set of 3 tp-link Deco M4.

I installed everything on Saturday. I was actually impressed with the simple step-by-step installation and that it took just a few minutes to setup.

It worked flawlessly throughout the house with 10+ devices connected for 2 days.

Then suddenly, on Monday, mid-day, while the system was barely in use it just reported no Internet connection. After a few hours of troubleshooting, the connection is still not back and I am reluctantly now considering sending everything back.

My simple setup:

I am getting internet from a local Swiss ISP with a fiber modem

The ISP modem DHCP is configured and set to automatic

From the ISP provided modem, I have disabled the built-in wifi and connected the master Deco M4 to one if the 4 Ethernet Port.

What I have tried to resolve the issue

1. Rebooting the ISP modem
2. Rebooting the Deco M4
3. Checked that other PCs connected to the modem are getting Internet
4. Checked that the cable connected to the Deco is getting Ethernet by connecting a laptop to the cable
5. Changed the Ethernet Port on the modem
6. Changed the Ethernet Port on the Deco
7. Changed to another Ethernet cable
8. Resetting the master Deco and unplugged the other 2 Decos
9. Switching between the Router and Access Point mode on the Deco
10. Resetting another Deco to use as the master connected to the ISP modem
11. Rebooting the Deco between every attempt

Different errors

• Cable Unplugged (not the case)
• No internet access and no WAN IP obtained
• No Internet access and no IP obtained

Over the last 2 days I was asked to deploy a few updates to the firmware, which I did. Did one of the updates brick the devices to the point that they can no longer use the Ethernet port? Does the reset process reinstall the factory settings and firmware?

I am running out of options and patience.
