Model: Archer AX23
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

hello,

I get slower internet speed by WIFI even if the laptop is just beside the router.

I recently bought a TPlink AX23 router. connected to my fiber modem with 600mbps speed.

my router to laptop via ethernet speed is 600-650mbps, the speed I get when I connect my laptop to router by WIFI is only 300-400mbps. the speed is significantly slower even though the laptop is right beside the router.

no other devices connected to the wifi when test was done.

no interference either since both router and laptop are right beside each other.

no QoS settings

laptop is wifi6 capable connected to 5g wifi.

any inputs is appreciated.

  @BenTee

Try setting the 5GHz band channel width to 80MHz and test the speed again to see if there's any difference.

You can also experiment with setting a different wireless channel for 5GHz band.

  @terziyski the TP link app only allows 20/40/80 setting. no 80mhz setting specifically. but still no improvement.

As I posted - you can also experiment with setting a different wireless channel for 5GHz band.

How to find a wireless channel with less interference is decribed in this document - <https>://www.metageek.com/inssider/
