Deco PX50 does not stay connected to chosen unit
Experiencing multiple issues with network connectivity that only started after firmware 1.22, with similar being reported by other threads.
Issue one:
- Unable to force a unit to only use Powerline Back-haul
- Unit in Garage has a strong Powerline Back-haul and 1 bar of weak wifi signal through 30cm of concrete to the main unit which drops in and out;
- On the App this deco unit changes between PLC and PLC + WiFi 2.4, but always with Strong PLC connection;
- Since firmware 1.22 the unit would fully disconnect (flashing red light + saying disconnected on Deco app) although the Powerline remains Strong, suspecting it repeatedly attempts to use the WiFi Back-haul instead
Issue two:
- Unit disobeys Connection Preference setting
- I attempted to force the Garage unit to connect to another unit another floor up to fully remove the possibility of WiFi Back-haul
- It worked for a few minutes but switched to the original unit although I turned off Auto mode and specifically appointed the upstairs unit as the signal source
- This amplifies issue one as it now tries to switch between the upstairs unit, the original unit (PLC) and original unit (PLC + WiFi)
The whole point of buying a PX50 is for its Powerline Back-haul where WiFi is limited, if you do not allow an PLC-only mode, and can't force units to connect to a known strong signal source, your design philosophy is very counter-intuitive.
