1. do you have the same SSID for your 6ghz and 2.4/5ghz networks?

1a. if so, do they have the same security settings (WPA3 and the same password)?

2. does the roaming issue occur in both directions, or only when you are going tfrom the satellite to the main router?

3. any other devices besides the s24u that are victims of the same problem?

4. is it always (or nearly always) an issue of the connection being "overly sticky", or does it also prematurely switch when it shouldn't have?

-------------------------

For reference if you end up completely stuck and everyone stops replying to the thread: when I was troubleshooting my 2x be800 wired easymesh, the starting part for my differential diagnosis (aka this isn't a fix, just a temporary way to narrow down what is breaking)

  • AdvancedHomeShield
    • disable QoS
    • disable Parental Controls
  • AdvancedWirelessWireless Settings
    • set OFDMA/MU-MIMO to "disabled"
    • enable Smart Connect
    • manually select a 2.4ghz channel (instead of "Auto")
    • limit the 5ghz channel width to 20/40/80Mhz, which allows you to:
      • manually select a 5ghz channel that is not subject to DFS
    • reduce the 2.4/5ghz transmit power to "Low"
      • might need to use "middle" if the low setting causes a dead spot between the two routers' coverage
    • change the SSIDs to something new
      • Use a distinct SSID for 2.4/5ghz and a different one for 6ghz
      • this is just an easy way to make sure that there aren't any other devices on the network and that the phone doesn't do anything cute with "intelligent adaptive" wifi
    • disable the MLO network
  • AdvancedNetworkLAN
    • disable RX and TX Flow Controller
  • Move the ethernet backhaul to a different LAN port on both the router side and the satellite side

yes all same SSID, and same passwords and WPA3

2. does the roaming issue occur in both directions, or only when you are going tfrom the satellite to the main router?

NO, only in one direction from router to satellite. Vice vs reconnects really quick.

3. any other devices besides the s24u that are victims of the same problem?

Only the s24U, iphones do not have this problem.

4. is it always (or nearly always) an issue of the connection being "overly sticky", or does it also prematurely switch when it shouldn't have?

It's not overly sticky when it switches from satellite to router.
