As Mobile service providers continue to roll out the 5G network, upgrading from traditional LTE routers to the latest 5G Technology is becoming increasingly unavoidable. To fully utilize the high-speed capabilities of 5G, how can users identify the ideal 5G router that aligns with their home network requirements?

There are two major 5G router branches:

  Deco 5G Routers   Archer 5G routers
Wi-Fi 6

Deco X50-5G (AX3000)

The main difference is in the wireless specifications and

the software features currently supported.

For a comprehensive comparison, kindly refer to the specifications.

Here we take Deco X50-5G and Archer NX200 for example:

How to find which one is a better fit?

Identify the essential factors that need to be met in addition to supporting 5G mobile service.

  • Prefer web management or APP control?

If you are frequently web management users, Archer NX200 should be your first choice.

  • Already have some Deco units or EasyMesh extenders?

Currently, Deco routers are unable to establish a Mesh system with EasyMesh devices. Therefore, if you already have other Deco Mesh units, Deco X50-5G would be the preferable choice; otherwise, consider Archer NX200.

  • Need a specific advanced software feature?

If you want separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Archer NX200 will be better.

Or Trying to establish a Mesh system via Wi-Fi / Ethernet Backhaul, Deco X50-5G will be an excellent choice for Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi.

If you still can’t choose whether Deco X50-5G or Archer Nx200, please leave a comment and describe your dilemma.

@Shulzmark

The newly released Archer NX600 supports Carrier Aggregation (CA) and 4x4 mimo. However, I'm not sure if it's available in your region. You may check with the local resellers or online stores.

  @David-TP I am not getting the data in the Tether App for Total Traffic Usage by each client who are connected to my Archer NX200. Secondly, May I know if there is a way to limit the speed for each client connected to my Archer NX200. I can limit the speed for the clients connected to my another router which is Archer AX72 but I cannot find any such option in the tether app for Archer NX200. If anyone know please help.  Thank you.

  @UserNX200

Hi, Thank you very much for the message.

Archer NX200 doesn't support "Speed Limit" per device like Archer AX72.

As for the "Traffic Usage" on the Tether APP, I think Archer NX200 would only calculate the total data usage of the whole network.

On the web interface of Archer NX200, there is a feature called "Traffic Statistics" under Advanced>System tools>Traffic Statistics, would it list the detailed Total Bytes per device?

Thanks again and best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you for your prompt reply. As I want to do the speed limit for each client connected and see their total data usage monthly, Can I use Archer AX72 as WiFi extender for NX200 using a LAN cable? If it is possible then I will provide the login credentials to the clients for Archer AX72 and not for the NX200. I understand that If I use EasyMesh function to connect NX200 with Archer AX72 then the clients can also connect to NX200 as well and in that case I may not be able to speed limit. Thank you.

Best regards.

  @Knight2k

Hi, Archer NX200 hasn't added 464XLAT technology either.

For the other question-" what category router is NX200 when using it as a 4g router? ", I'm not sure what you're trying to ask exactly. Can you add more details?

Wait for your reply and best regards.
