Hi Team,

I have a curiousity question. My system is currently performing well, but I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve speed and performance—such is the life of someone with ADHD. 🫤

Currently, I have the Main DECO connected to the modem via a Cat8 Ethernet cable. Throughout my house, I have access points in the wall that allow direct connection to the modem. My question is: would the speed transmitted from the other DECOs in the house be improved if they were also connected directly to the modem via Cat8 Ethernet cables?

Here’s my setup:

  • NBN: FTTP (750/42.5Mbps)
  • TP-Link Archer VR2800: Connected to the NBN Box via a Cat8 Ethernet cable.
  • Main DECO: DECO X50 (Downstairs Living room)
  • DECO X50 (Upstairs Gaming room)
  • DECO M5 (Upstairs Main bedroom)
  • DECO M5 (Downstairs Garage)

I hope I’ve explained this properly.

Thanks

  @Joker_1660

Deco WiFi speed will be improved, if it is connected with Ethernet cable. But, for that to work, you'll need to change Deco mesh mode to Access Point mode: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/kb/detail/334

Thanks @Alexandre. All my Deco's are set-up in Access Point mode.
