Future Consideration wireguard client not working in beta version
Wireguard Client for Archer AX53 (AX3000) V1
Model: Archer AX53
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer AX53 V1 1.2.4 Build 20240509
Hello, I just purchased recently Archer AX53 AX3000 V1. I also updated with the latest official firmware available V1_1.2.4 Build 20240509.
Could you please release new firmware update that support wireguard Client function.
This would make TP-Links Routers a much Better service since the popularity of VPN's is increasing Each day and more people want to connect their router's to a VPN cause it's easier and more reliable and secure.
And I hope TP-Link would release a New Firmware for VPN Client feature.
Please pass it along to the development team and put this at a Top Priority if Possible.
Thank you for your consideration.

@Router_Review thanks for your comprehensive reply. unfortunately, they already shipped it so even if I want to return it I have to wait a couple days.
so, what about beta release openvpn and wireguard clients? how they work rn? can it save the day until a stable release or it's broken completely? some say it works and some say it doesn't work at all, one of the is you.
and if I install the latest beta update to use that client features, can I get back to stable firmware? to make it clear, after I get my shipment, if I install the beta fw and don't like it at all, can I return it? we have 14 days unconditional return policy in where I live. so all I need to do will be going back to stable release.
last and maybe the hardest question, you mentioned that global tplink technical service said there will be stable firmware at the and of the year with both openvpn and wireguard clients, how much we can trust they? because sometimes firms can say what you want to hear when you bother them a lot. and what I see is you bother them a lot :)).

@wdoor I have tried this beta
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/beta/2024/202402/20240206/Archer_AX53_V1_1.2.4_Build_20240206.zip
I can confirm the OpenVPN Client doesn't work when i tested it with Protonvpn. I am not sure about other vpn provider.
btw OP said wireguard vpn client also not working.
Tp-Link support emailed me this beta but I haven't tested it:
http://tpbeta.com/s/ax53v1/download/Archer%20AX53%28EU%29_V1_230914.zip
yes you can install beta firmware and after that if you don't like it you can install the stable firmware.
the last public beta firmware released more than half a year ago, so firm actually was thinking to release firmware that support VPN Client for AX53 V1 but for some reason progress too slow.
Actually official tp-link website made misleading information because of that I bought ax53 v1, it was stated ax53 v1 support VPN Client, until I made complaint/feedback to tplink support and finally they fix the specs information on tp-link website. I am so disappointed.
I am a loyal Tp-link customer and all my previous router are tp-link, I might switch to Asus if they don't release stable firmware that support VPN Client by the end of this year.

hi again! my ax53 came today and tried both firmwares. the second one doesnt even have a vpn client but the first one works like a charm! when enabled my ip and isp changes in speedtest and i can access banned websites in my country. I use mullvad as vpn provider and tried wireguard. at my first attemt my ip didnt change in whatsmyipadress but yet it allowed me to access banned websites. so i checked on speedtest and yes my latency were much higher and both my ip and isp was different. so maybe the problem is where you check your ip adress. @Router_Review

since i contacted you again, do you have "retrieve settings from old router/modem" setting when setting up your router? i want to remove my isp's modem and use my router with the ont device but my isp wont share the ppppoe password with me. so i need access it somehow. i thought tplink has a function to copy pppoe settings like keenetic but i didnt see that. i saw in on that link ( https://www.tp-link.com/ar/support/faq/3773/#:~:text=Run%20the%20Quick%20Setup.,router%20to%20this%20new%20router. ) but maybe ax53 is not eligible for that. what a shame if it is! @Router_Review
