Unable to set up NordVPN on Deco X50 PoE
My setup is as follows:
Plusnet Hub 2 router with all wifi switched off, 1 Deco X50 PoE plugged into ethernet port with 2 further Deco X50s linked wirelessly to it as a mesh system. Main Deco X50-PoE set up in router mode, so theoretically I should have access to all of the features supported by Router Mode. This should include VPN Server/Client functions. With this setup, my mesh system works very well indeed - much better than my old mesh system. However:
I have a subscription to NordVPN, but try as I may, I cannot get it to connect when setting up my main Deco X50 as a VPN server. I've followed all of the instructions on the Deco app using the "encrypt your online activity with a VPN" gateway button on the "More" tab and followed all of the instructions on the "Already subscribed? Set up now" option. I've then selected NordVPN and logged in with the token I got from the NordVPN website. The next screen then requests me to upload my server file by tapping "Here" and downloading the server. Once I do that, NordVPN recommends a server e.g. uk2098.nordvpn.com from which I am then prompted to download a config file. Once downloaded, I then upload the saved config file and save the VPN server. However, all I get then is VPN Client showing as "connecting", but it never actually connects.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and how, in very simplistic terms (as if telling an idiot - which in fact you are doing!) how to put it right and achieve my ultimate aim, which is to have my main Deco act as my NordVPN and not have to have to install NordVPN on every phone/laptop/TV/tablet/PC in my household!
Once upon a time, I used to know what I was doing with I.T. but time marches on and has taken my brain cells and ability to learn new things with it.
Thanks.
