Hi, an I right in thinking that the latest officially released firmware for the XE70 Pro is still 1.2.11? That's what mine have installed and the app says no update available. It's also the latest version I can see on the TP Link download website.

I see people have installed beta versions sent directly from the support team, and some suggest they've had a more up-to-date release pushed through the app (although it's unclear if that's for the XE70 or the XE75).

I'm suffering the the same WiFi dropouts as everyone else and am wondering if I should try to get hold of a beta release, just wait for an official update, or if for some reason I'm not getting new firmware pushed to me.

Thanks for any insight you can give.

I took the plunge and upgraded to the 1.2.14 beta 20250217 posted by @David-TP , on the basis I could downgrade again if necessary.

I just wanted to flag that installing that firmware immediately blew up my managed network switch. I only have one for legacy reasons and am about to move to an unmanaged switch but it might be helpful for people to know:

My switch had STP turned on for some ports as I also have a Sonos system with multiple wired devices and if you use a managed switch, STP is required.

STP was turned off for all the ports which had a mesh secondary node attached because if STP is turned on, wired backhaul doesn't work.

On the main deco, STP was turned on because it shared that port (via an unmanaged switch) with a Sonos device. But that's OK for the main Deco.

That setup worked fine for both Sonos and Deco on firmware 1.2.11. But after moving to 1.2.14, my managed switch detected a network loop and shut down the ethernet link between the main deco and the switch (and hence the router). I guess this beta firmware is more aggressively connecting between nodes on WiFi as well as ethernet backhaul and that is triggering a loop which wasn't previously there.

I recognise that managed switches and STP are complex technologies for home use and I'll report back again on the effectiveness of the new firmware once I've taken delivery of the unmanaged switch. But I wanted to post this as others may also be experiencing problems if they have a managed switch in their system, and these things are hard to diagnose so knowing about the issue might be helpful.

  @David-TP bought these yesterday.. and now I have big problems with 2.4ghz.. XE75 using firmware 1.4.5 it keeps kicking me out from the network. So all my bulbs cameras etc is going offline. Beam and roaming is off. I created a IoT network for just this purpose.. but is keeps giving me alot of problem.

  @rednake I'm still on the beta firmware 1.2.14, so I can't comment on the issues with the version you're on, other than to say that some people on this thread have said that new versions of the firmware sometimes add back problems that were fixed in previous versions!

Prior to moving to the beta firmware I'd turned off beam forming and fast roaming, as these are known to cause problems. Moving to beta 1.2.14 helped quite a bit but I got a further dramatic improvement when I turned beamforming and fast roaming back on. I know - that's crazy. But it improved things for me and it's easy to test, so I'd give it a try.

but there have been further updates since.

  @rednake

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

I've left a message with the beta firmware for Deco XE75_v1 that has improved the 2.4GHz stability. Could you please help me test whether it helps or not?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
