Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20241010 Rel. 65389

Hi everyone,

Recently my Deco auto-updated to firmware 1.6.1 Build 20241010 Rel. 65389 and since then my Google Nest Hub 2 is struggling to maintain connectivity. It keeps dropping the connection and trying to reconnect, with many issues and this is making it un-usable. Before the update, on version 1.5.5 Build 20240718,  the Nest Hub was working just fine. I tried connecting it both on my main network and on my IoT network. My other devices are not facing issues.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Kind regards

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

How often would the Google Nest Hub 2 usually drop out?

Have you tried the following suggestions:

1. Please disable "Fast roaming" and "beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

2. Set preferred Wi-Fi band and Deco for the Nest hub 2;

-For example, I noticed Google Nest Hub 2 supports 2.4+5GHz. You could set the preferred band to 5GHz and connect to the main Deco X50(or the nearest satellite Deco).

How to select a preferred signal source on the Deco App

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Hi  @David-TP ,

The Nest Hub often drops, mostly in the mornings when I access my nanny camera view or when listening to music. There is no real pattern I could figure out, but it disconnects from time to time.

I have set up the other steps you mentioned since I first started using my Nest Hub 2, as I read about them in the forum. The only difference is that I don't see beamforming as an option anymore on the Android app's version 3.8.88.

best regards

Sunday

  @David-TP

I've had similar problems and worse with this firmware upgrade on my new X55s - network was working fine until the firmware upgrade, now devices connected to the Ethernet ports on one of the satellite Decos don't function and I'm getting multiple network disconnects on devices all over the house

I think it may be NAT related or similar. Oddly on iOS Safari seems to connect but apps don't.

Can I downgrade the firmware to the previous working firmware? Otherwise they'll all have to go back to the store unfo

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Do you want to downgrade to 1.5.5?

-If yes, the firmware downgrade needs to be implemented via firmware recovery- How to Downgrade Deco.

I wish you don't downgrade the firmware for now and there is a beta firmware for Deco X50-V1 which is based on the 1.6.1 official version:

It is suggested to install this version to see whether it helped or not.

At the same time, I'd like to follow up on your case via email for further assistance.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have resolved this now by removing all the Decos and reinstalling from factory default settings, it is working well now.
