Hi, I would like to know if it's possible, and if so, how.
My newer TV finds the media server HDD at my router USB by it's own without issues, but my older smart one, to which my chromecast is connected, can't (or any streaming other than netflix, hence the chromecast).
So, I was wondering, can chromecast (3rd gen) access the hdd, so I can play the movies at my older tv?

Hi,

In any case you will still need another device that allows you to browse through the content on your media server and select the media file you want to play.

So you need a computer or mobile device with a software that supports DLNA (to access the Archer AX72's media server) as well as casting to Chromecast.
