Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

All,

just upgraded to fibre and getting speeds of 900mbps to the property.

at the further wifi node I get 150-200mbps but on the same deview if i connect via ethernet I get 750-800mbps. my small brain tell me there must be good speeds getting to the node over the networ but the node must be throttling back for the wifi. is there a setting or something I am missing within the app to resolve this. I am able to hardwire for one device but I need wifi for another two and this would really help me out.

Thank you in advance.

Russ

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

"at the further wifi node I get 150-200mbps but on the same deview if i connect via ethernet I get 750-800mbps"

-The speedtest results here are from the same Deco X60, right? is it the main Deco?

-Have you checked the wireless link speed of this mobile devices?-How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

- Please also make sure the mobile devices are connected to the 5GHz WiFi band.---You could try to turn off 2.4GHz under the Main WiFi network first to test the WiFi speed again.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  • I am referring to the farthest away from the main deco; but it is only one jump/connection (wireless) to the main Deco; main is X60 this one is X50 (but also same issue on another X60)

-Have you checked the wireless link speed of this mobile devices?-How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

  • Thank you for this link and advice. I checked on the MacMini which I see linked to this Deco in the app and it shows 864mps; but an ookla speedtest only shows 160mbps (with Wifi on only)

- Please also make sure the mobile devices are connected to the 5GHz WiFi band.---You could try to turn off 2.4GHz under the Main WiFi network first to test the WiFi speed again.

  • I have many IoT devices using 2.4GHz so turning that off is not an option for me, but I could run a test with it off and report back.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT!
