Bugfix request: Archer NX200 fails to connect in 5G only mode and misses bands in manual search

Issue 1:
When the network mode is set to 5G only, the modem fails to connect to the internet or detect any 5G bands. However, when the mode is set to 5G/4G/3G, the modem successfully connects to a 5G band, and internet connectivity is established.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set the modem network mode to 5G only.
2. Observe that the modem does not connect to the internet or detect any 5G bands.
3. Change the network mode to 5G/4G/3G.
4. Observe that the modem connects to a 5G band successfully.
Issue 2:
When performing a manual search for 5G bands, the modem does not detect the bands it connects to automatically.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Perform a manual search for 5G bands.
2. Observe that the modem does not list the 5G bands it connects to automatically.
Expected Behavior:
• In 5G only mode, the modem should detect and connect to available 5G bands.
• A manual search for 5G bands should display all compatible and connectable 5G bands, including those the modem connects to automatically.
Actual Behavior:
• The modem fails to connect or detect bands in 5G only mode.
• Manual search does not display the 5G bands that the modem connects to automatically.

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.
May I know who your SIM Operator is?
the issue has been mentioned here:
Archer NX200 cannot connect to the Internet in 5G Only mode with German O2
It will be optimized via future firmware upgrades later.
Best regards.

Hi, thank you for your quick response.
My SIM operator is Georgian's Magticom: https://www.magticom.ge/en
The workaround you mentioned is working, but I’ve noticed that there are a few 5G bands available where I use the router:
- The first band provides ~600 Mbps download and ~2 Mbps upload.
- The second band provides ~350 Mbps download and ~100 Mbps upload.
I definitely prefer using the second band due to its better upload speed, but the router tends to prioritize the first band when set to 5G/4G/3G automatic mode.
I would greatly appreciate it if these issues could be resolved as soon as possible, as this would significantly enhance my experience with the Archer NX200.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Hello, it seems that the issue still hasn’t been resolved.
I recently acquired this router model and an external antenna to maximize the speed I can get outdoors. However, I am unable to achieve this in automatic mode. The router defaults to band B20, but the antenna supplier indicates that this is an unsuitable band for the antenna's usage. There are much better bands available (such as bands 3 and 7).
I find that outdoors, with my Samsung S24 Plus, I can achieve double the speed.
This situation is very frustrating because I bought a router with the option of manual band selection, but due to a bug, this isn’t possible!
I kindly ask that you fix this issue as soon as possible.
TP-Link, can you inform me when you’ll resolve this? I bought the router this week, and if you don’t fix it quickly, I’ll return the product. I’ve noticed in this forum that the problem has been persisting for months…
My network operator: Vodafone Portugal
Antenna model: KASER K5G0MNI
Router firmware version: 1.4.0 3.0.0 v60a2.0 Build 240814 Rel.58842n
Router hardware version: Archer NX200 v1.0 00000000

Also just installed the NX200 and have the same issue. I want to lock on specific 4G bands but if I do that, the failure of doing manual search for 5G bands then prevent any 5G connection (which is here, on auto I get N1 5G band)
Location: Sweden
Operator: Tre
@TP-link support: Is a fix for this in the roadmap for the firmware updates?

@David-TP hello I would like to address that this problem isnt only for German o2 nor is it related to any isp and just so you know I'm using a different isp.because when I do a manual band search it shows 2 frequency bands but when I set to auto it shows a different 5G band which I didnt see in the 5G band list.As it is a firmware limitation and I hope you guys are already working on an update to fix this
