No signal after rebooting router

No signal after rebooting router

I have an RE450 WiFi range extender.  It works fine, except that when I reboot my main router, the RE450 does not automatically regain signal.  I have to reboot the RE450 and after that it finds the signal once again.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Hi @DennisinOz

If you need to reboot the router at a specific time, you can Enable Reboot Schedule and set the corresponding settings. Access tplinkmodem.net, and then go to Settings > System Tools > Reboot.

@Joseph-TP Thanks for replying Joseph.  Maybe I wasn't clear.  I have good signal from my router.  It's the range extender that doesn't pick up the signal after the router is rebooted.  The only way to regain the extended signal is to then reboot the RE450 range extender.  I'm keen to know whether that's a problem with this model range extender and if there's a fix?

Thanks.

Hi  @DennisinOz,

Generally speaking, the range extender will automatically reconnect after the router is restarted.
However, if the RE450 does not reconnect automatically, it may be due to distance or other factors.

Suggestions:
1. Update both the RE450 and the router to the latest firmware.
2. Adjust the placement of the RE450.
3. If the router restarts at a fixed time, you can also set a reboot schedule to restart the RE450 at the same fixed time.
