low speeds upstairs

I just installed the above piece of kit and , as I have had another similar item from yourselves, managed to install it OK going by your leaflet.
However, despite getting +800mbs download in the livingroom where the router is (on WiFi,) I cannot get anything over 93mbs upstairs in my office using the kit.
I am using 1000mbs high speed LAN cables with it.
Any suggestions as to how its so slow upstairs?

Hi@cgwilson,
Thank you for contacting our community.
If you're experiencing low speed issues when connected to a TP-Link powerline device, there are several potential factors and troubleshooting steps you can take:
1. Check powerline adapters' placement: Ensure that the powerline adapters are plugged directly into a wall outlet and not into power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords.
2. Test different electrical outlets and move them into the same room for comparison.
3. Check powerline rates between the powerline devices via tpPLC utility/App, you could refer to this FAQ to understand the difference between powerline rate and actual internet speed: Explanation about the Powerline Rate and Actual speed of the Powerline Adapters
If the powerline rate is too low, refer to this FAQ to see if it will be better: What can I do if my powerline rate is very low?
4. If the wired speed is normal, only wireless connection is slow, please try to change the Wi-Fi channel and channel width on the powerline extender.
5. Check available firmware updates and ensure the powerline adapter and extender are both using the latest firmware.
Best Regards~

Hi,
By "another similar item" you mean another set of Powerline adapters?
If so, does that other set of Powerline adapters manage better speeds when used at the same locations?
93 Mbps still sound reasonable to me for an "AV1000" kit, if the adapters are placed on different floors.

Hi, yes I had another set of Powerline adapters once before.
They were in a different home where my speeds were poor - only about 36mbps but I have high speed here.
I would have thought 93 was a poor result given its 800+ downstairs. If thats the best it can achieve then frankly, they`ve been a waste of money.
I will keep trying solutions seen elsewhere (Youtube) in the hope it can get better.

Hi
I have installed the utility app and its saying I am getting 540+ mbps rate between the 2 units which makes me think its a PC related issue?

Hi@cgwilson,
Thank you for your reply.
The conversion rate (The ratio of transmission rate and Powerline rate) is about 30%-35%(the actual conversion rate depends on the electric wiring system). If the powerline rate is 540+ mbps between the 2 units, the conversion rate of only 93Mbps is indeed lower than the normal range.
Have you tried the suggestions I provided last time? For example, change the clients, change the wall socket, and eliminate the interference of the circuit environment.
