I want to summarize the feedback from multiple users testing the 1.3.2 beta firmware on the Archer GE800. The beta is built directly on the official 1.3.1 version, so the main change should be the new AI QoS feature.

Here are the issues users are reporting:

1: 5 GHz Wi-Fi becomes unstable after the router has been running for some time
2: Devices disconnect and cannot reconnect until the router is rebooted
3: IPTV and streaming apps using 5 GHz drop randomly
4: Packet drops occur even at full signal strength
5: 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz bands remain stable while 5 GHz is affected
6: QoS does not reduce latency under load and does not prioritize gaming correctly yet
7: Bufferbloat and ping spikes appear during downloads or high usage
8: Tether App access sometimes causes Wi-Fi to drop or restart
9: Connected device list in Tether often fails to display, while the web UI works fine

Rolling back to 1.3.1 restores stability for those users, especially for 5 GHz, so the issues seem tied to the new beta changes, possibly within the updated QoS system or memory handling.

Useful information to include when reporting problems:

1: ISP connection type (PPPoE, DHCP, etc.)
2: Which band is affected (mostly 5 GHz according to feedback)
3: Type of apps showing issues (IPTV, cloud gaming, streaming, etc.)
4: Whether turning off AI QoS improves stability or latency

Оn my GE800 setup, 5 GHz has remained stable so far under the 1.3.2 beta, so it is possible that the issue does not affect all environments or configurations equally. This makes detailed feedback even more helpful for the developers.

AI QoS has good potential for gaming performance once fine-tuned. Thanks to TP-Link for sharing the beta and hopefully this collective feedback supports a smoother final release

@Vendex I hope they fix it but TP-Link is currently focused on WiFi 8, I don't think there will be WiFi 7 times, I don't understand why they focused on 8 without WiFi 7 working properly.

@Pro-gamer I understand the concern about TP-Link working on WiFi 8 technologies, but the existence of the 1.3.2 beta already shows that TP-Link is still actively improving the Archer GE800 and WiFi 7 products. A beta firmware normally means a stable version will follow once the issues are resolved.

Development in WiFi standards overlaps between generations, so progress on WiFi 8 does not mean WiFi 7 support has stopped. The GE800 is a flagship model, and TP-Link has a strong history of continuing updates for a long time after release.

The focus of this beta is to refine the new AI QoS feature. It needs tuning, and that is exactly what the testing phase is for.

By providing clear feedback, we help the developers improve the final version for everyone

@Bauhaus This new OTA firmware (1.3.2 Build 20250929) doesn’t seem to be for the EU region. I’m currently on the EU beta 1.3.2 Build 20251013 rel.33113(4555), which is actually newer than the one mentioned. The 0929 build looks like an earlier global or non-EU release that was later finalized as a “stable” version. If you’re already on the beta, there’s no reason to downgrade since the beta includes the same AI QoS feature and likely some additional fixes. For EU users, it’s best to stay on the beta until TP-Link releases the next official EU build, which should eventually replace both this stable and the beta. Also worth noting, both of these versions can’t be downgraded once installed, so make sure to verify your region and hardware before updating

Correction:  I’ve just checked and the same 1.3.2 Build 20250929 firmware is also listed on the official French TP-Link site as an EU release, so it’s confirmed to be for the European region.

@PYou surprised me once, TP-Link, what a disgrace, you are releasing smart qos, you have been testing the beta version for months, but you don't listen to people's complaints.

I’m still a bit confused though, since I’m currently on the newer beta 1.3.2 Build 20251013 and not sure if updating to the older official one makes sense. It might be safer to stay on the beta for now until TP-Link releases the next EU stable version that’s newer than both
