Model: Tapo C230
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Just useless. C230 Tapo cameras all go offline after any network event and do not try reconnect. This is a major security flaw. Why do they not power cycle every 10 minutes or something soon they will reconnect automatically? Utterly useless if you are away on holiday, you can't come home and manually power cycle them so they reconnect. Why is this not just a core part of the firmware functionality?

Hi,
Typically, Tapo cameras will continue to attempt to reconnect to the router's Wi-Fi after being disconnected. The failure of the camera to reconnect to the router's Wi-Fi can be attributed to several factors, such as the router's Wi-Fi settings and environmental interference. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the fail to connect phenomenon from the info we have.

If you are away from the camera when it disconnects from the router, you can try to reboot the router remotely to check if the camera will reconnect to it. When the camera is working, you can enable the Auto Reboot feature and check if it will help in the future.

Best Regards
