Hi,
Usually, the Tapo camera has a protective film on the lens to protect it during transit. If your camera looks like the picture below, it means the protective film has been removed. (The protective film is easily removable and is generally removed before use.)

Best Regards

Hi,
Do you want to remove the lens's protective film because when you zoom in the camera's live view page in the Tapo app, the car reg or faces are not clear?

Please note that the Tapo camera uses digital zoom, and you will lose image quality when zooming in the camera's live view page. If the video quality is too bad, please confirm the following information for further analysis.

  1. Is the 2K resolution selected on the camera's live view page?
  2. How many devices are streaming the camera simultaneously? Please reboot the camera, then only use one device to access the camera, and check if the video quality is better.
  3. Please send us a video showing the video quality of the camera when it zooms in or not.
You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards

Hi,
1. I am not sure if the protective film you mentioned is the same thing I understand. It's suggested that you take a photo of the camera lens and send it to me. This way, we can confirm whether there is a protective film that can be removed.

2. If your phone and the camera are connected to the same Wi-Fi but you can't download the video clips from the SD card, please try the following steps.
  1) Force close the Tapo app.
  2) Reboot the camera, and make sure your phone can ping the camera's IP address successfully.
  3) Open the Tapo app and try to download video clips again.

Best Regards
