Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi, I just bought the Archer T3U(EU, V1.0) and I am using it on a 2.4/5GHz network with a gigabit connection. Problem is I can't go above 25Mbps, on an AMD-powered laptop with Windows 11, even when close to the router. Apparently the device won't use the fastest protocol:

I've tried manually changing the protocol in Devices-advanced settings to make the adapter operate only at IEEE 802.11n, but it did not change the value whatsoever.

I've tried other USB ports, but it didn't improve speed nor did it change the protocol.

I am using the latest drivers available on the tp-link website.

Other devices (phone, tablet) can reach the expected speeds.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @Joe_Kerr ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

If you're suffering from the slow speed issue with the wireless adapter, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
    1. Connect another mobile device to the same Wi-Fi router to check whether the issue is on the router or adapter.
    2. Disable the original wireless adapter from the control panel of your PC.
    3. Move the computer with the installed adapter about 10-15 feet from your router.
    4. If you have a dual-band wireless adapter, please make sure the router supports 5GHZ and connect the wireless adapter to the 5GHz band.
    5. Change the wireless settings on the main router, like channel 1/6/11 for 2.4GHz, and channel 36/40/44/48 for 5GHz.

Best Regards.
