Reconnect Deco to Starlink

Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Deco worked perfectly as a mesh with Starlink for several years. The Starlink cable had to be replaced (puppy chewed it) and now Deco won't connect to it.

I can't get the Decos to set up again. The app only shows the limited functionality of setting up, none of the other information previously available is accessible. Prior to the incident the 3 Decos worked fine and were kept up to date with the app

I have reset the Decos by poking the hole in the bottom. I have only tried to connect one at a time.

I took Starlink out of bypass mode (need to use the internet) and it's working fine. It's the Starlink standard actuated version 2 (rectangular dish) bought in 2022.

All the information I can find online is about setting them from new and I can't find anything that describes how to deal with my problem. I'd appreciate any help to understand what I'm doing wrong and how to get it going again. Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the firmware version of your Deco XE75 Pro?

How about the LED light on the Deco, solid green or red?

Would there be any error message during the setup?-Main Deco Failed to Complete Setup

Have you tried to set Deco into "Access Point mode": How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Please also refer to this link to see whether it helped: How to connect Deco with Starlink

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hi David,

Firmware version - is there a way to find this apart from in the app? There are no options in the app apart from the front page set up Deco part.

How about the LED light on the Deco, solid green or red? - it's green when I plug it in, then goes to flashing blue.

Error message - 'Ethernet cable is not connected.' I've tried two different ethernet cables that definitely work.

Have you tried to set Deco into "Access Point mode" - I don't know how to do this. In the link you attached it shows choosing an option in the app but I don't have access to that part of the app.

Thanks for your help.

Hi  @J_Dale  & hope you're well!

With the LED colour on startup is it definitely green or more yellowish as it's quite similar?

It sounds more likely to be yellow if the flashing blue LED is the next colour.

If so this is the expected behaviour after a reset which is positive and means you are now ready to start setting them up as new.

If this is the case is the "+" sign available in the top right hand corner on the app?

If so select it and "create a network" as that would be the next step.

You may have already done this. If so I'd uninstall the Deco app, reinstall it then try creating the network again.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

If the LED is still flashing blue, the Deco is still in configuration mode.

Have you tried to set a different Deco as the main Deco?

-You can unplug the Ethernet cable from the main Deco to the Starlink router and start the configuration on the Deco APP("+"> Create a network. Then, when the Deco APP reports"Ethernet cable is not connected", plug the cable back in at this moment.)

For more suggestions about the configuration, you could also refer to Main Deco Failed to Complete Setup

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
