@Yash_Kanawjia lets hope they fix the firmware, ASAP.

Also you're not the guy from the YouTube channel Geeky Twins, right? I mean, I was amazed when I read you had the VSOL 2802RH, HSGQ SFP XPON ONU on hand. He has the same ones and uploaded videos about it. Plus, you already have the XX530v like him, so three coincidences in a row left me stunned! 😂

Hehe, no. Eventhough we both have the same devices, the ISPs are different. And IDK hindi 🤣

I haven't heard from them since Monday. I'll post any updates as soon as they get back to me.

Hello @grad1e

Could I know why the ISP insists on using Mac Clone? Why can't you directly use the TP-Link WAN MAC?
We would also like to know whether the ISP has given you a clear and detailed response. This is also very important to us.

Best Regards.

I am having the same issue. My ISP needs the MAC to be cloned in order to even connect. If I use the TP Link's MAC, it wont' connect. I even asked my ISP to release the MAC address. But they are not doing it.

In this case, what can we do?

ISP: Keralavision, India

  @Yash_Kanawjia ,

Thank you for your active participation in the discussion and extensive testing. This has been very valuable to us all.
For more analysis, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers, who will contact you using your registered email address later. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for follow-up.

Hello@shu006 ,

Is the address you cloned the old ONU's address or the PC's MAC address?

shu006 wrote

I just ran test after enabling mac cloning. Download speed dropped below 50mbps. So it’s confirmed issues is with router.

Hello @shu006 ,

It looks like you changed to a new ISP, and your devices are now receiving full speed, right?

Which Mac were you using when connecting to your old ISP's network? Was it the TP-Link Mac or the Mac that cloned the old device?
Did both Mac addresses successfully connect to the network, or did only one work?
If only the Mac clone worked with the XX530v, have you contacted your ISP to find out why they required the Mac clone?
Have you directly tested the connection using the TP-Link Mac?  What will be the specific manifestations?

Looking forward to your reply!

I changed my broadband from excitel to RailTel. They don't bind mac. Now I am getting full speed with xx530v.

Also there is no issue with using blue cable with green port. So its confirmed. Issue is with tplink firmware.

@Joseph-TP I cloned MAC address from ONU that Excitel provided.

I contacted excitel to change mac or remove Mac binding. But they refused by saying our device work best with our infrastructure. ( I know they are just making it up ).

I did these tests

Test 1 ---

Broadband - Excitel

Mac cloning- disabled

Result - pppoe does not connect

Test 2 ---

Broadband - Excitel

Mac cloning - Enable, Using excitel's onu mac

Result - pppoe connects but speed limited to 50mbps

Test 3 -----

Broadband - Excitel

Excitel onu on bridge mode

connected onu and xx530v via lan cable

mac cloning disabled

Result - EWAN pppoe does not connect

Test 4 ----

Broadband - Excitel

Excitel onu on bridge mode

connected onu and xx530v via lan cable

mac cloning enabled and used onu's mac

Result - EWAN pppoe connects but speed limited to 50mbps

Test 5 ----

Broadband - Excitel

Excitel onu on bridge mode

connected onu and AXE75(another tp link router) via lan cable

mac cloning enabled and used onu's mac

Result - pppoe connects and getting full speed (200mbps)

Test 6 ----

Broadband - RailTel (300mbps)

Mac cloning off

result - pppoe connects and getting full speed

Test 7 ---

Broadband - RailTel

Mac cloning on (added random mac )

result - pppoe connects but speed limited to 50mbps

Test 8 ---

Broadband - RailTel

Mac cloning on (added xx530v's mac )

result - pppoe connects but speed limited to 50mbps

Note - Railtel didn't gave me any I already had xx530v and they said Railtel does not bind mac so any device can be used.
