Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Latest

Halfway through connecting to wifi something went wrong and now the camera thinks its a tapo cam 72 bc and it won't reset properly or it can't find the 310 and maybe neighbour has a tapo cam 72 bc and it's picking that up. Either way upon setting up to wifi it cannot find  my 310 now and the install is stuck at trying to install a 72 bc. Please help. The whole install process is ruined. I have tried to reset the camera to no avail. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled. I have turned off the camera for over 10 mins and turned back on then tried a reset but no luck. I do have the flashing red and green light but it still gives me the 72 bc instead of the 310 upon wifi setup. I have also tried Bluetooth but still get the 72 bc on that type of setup as well. Any ideas of what went wrong. I have left the sd card in upon doing all of this.

Hi,
Please find the label on the camera or the box that comes with the camera, then check the camera's MAC address, especially confirm if the last four letters of the MAC address are 72BC. If so, the Tapo_Cam_72BC is your camera's default SSID.

As you can see in Step 3 in the following configuration guide, please connect your phone to the camera's default SSID, then go back to the Tapo app to find the camera and continue the setup process.
How to set up the Tapo camera

If the last four letters of the camera's MAC address are not 72BC, the default SSID of the camera is Tapo_Cam_XXXX(the last four letters of the camera's MAC address). Please check if you can find it on your phone's Wi-Fi list and connect to it to complete the setup process.

Best Regards
