I have always enjoyed Archer products so I have tried to have this as my main router, meshed into two other archer access points.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to operate this as described, with failover 5G.  It just keeps chewing through all the 5G (MBB) data first to the point I had to put a data cap that rolls over on the 1st of each month.

Sure enough the data cap works, it stops using the MBB data and only uses the Wan (Ewan) connection seamlessly for the rest of the month.

As you can see, I even updated to the beta firmware hoping for it to work, but it remains a problem.  This has been consistent since new.

First time in the community, thanks for any help you can offer.

I have HFC NBN as the primary EWAN connection.

  @Archer_Lank

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

I checked the previously escalated cases, and it seems like, under EWAN mode, IPV6 is disabled by default on the router, so the IPV6 traffic is forwarded through the backup MBB interface, which consumes extra mobile data allowance.

So I think you can also try to enable IPV6 under EWAN settings to see whether it helped:

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
