Model: Deco X50 - PoE
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.5.0

I recently bought a Deco X50 PoE and configurated as AP (directly connected to my internet providers router) to have a better signal on the last floor.

The Deco X50 has the same SSID and Password as the router.

Cellphones and tablets switch networks without any issue.

The problem is wiht the laptops, running Windows 11 all updated.

My laptop has an Intel WiFi 6E AX211 board in the last driver version 23.150.0.4.

I'm near to the Deco and the Laptop always connects to the poor signal form the router.

I tryed to:

  • reboot
  • delete and put the passwork again

The only time that it worked was when I switched off the router's WiFi + Reboot the laptop and connect it to the AP Wifi.
It was also fine when I switch on again the router Wifi, to test I rebooted again the laptop and only connects again to the router's WiFi ignoring the AP.

Some suggestions that I found made no difference, like:

  • Laptop Roaming Aggressiveness to Highest
  • Enable Fast Roaming in Deco

Did someone had the same issue or knows how to solve it (if possible...)

Hi, welcome to the community.

There is a newer Windows driver for Intel AX211. Maybe you can install this driver to see whether it helps:

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Hi,

thanks for your reply!

The problem was not the driver.

I found it yesterday later... I read a tip in another forum to check the type of encription key... the Router is using WPA3+WPA2 and the Deco was by default in WPA/WPA2... somehow cellphones and tablets have no problems with that, but Windows has. After change to WPA2/WPA3 Personal in Deco the laptops changed to the AP network automatically and is working without issues.

Best regards!
