Thank you very much. I'll wait for your good news after the factory reset.

The system logs have also been forwarded to the senior engineer for further analysis. They will update the email as soon as possible.

Best regards.

Hi David,

I have now performed a full factory reset of my network. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app at the same time and rebuilt the network. I have removed the X10 I have on the network at the request of Deakin (System Engineering).

It is still refusing to remember which devices are on which profiles or whether it is set to 'Block' or 'Allow' (Block having no effect at all). The duplication issue with the MAC seems to have settled down (having some issues with my wifes iPhone, but thats Apple for you).

Really do not know what to try next.

Should I submit a fresh log?

I had very similar issues and followed similar steps to correct them.

Even using the backup option or copying the profile from a previous network did not help.

Sorry to report that I have had to essentially start from scratch.

If you haven't done so already can you please help me submit the Deco APP log here:How to submit Deco APP log

The more info we can get on this problem the better

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

Hi, yeah, it would be better to submit a fresh log and update the email so the engineer knows the previous suggestions didn't work.

Best regards.

Hi, did the Parental Control start working well after network reconfiguration from scratch?

Best regards.

Thank you for your input, I have done a full factory reset and rebuild of the network but it is still not working.

You say you 'needed to start from scratch', did you ever get the TP-Link working again or do you mean you had to purchase another system?

Hi David,

I have submitted a fresh system log.

I have noticed that if I 'bypass' the parental controls and go into the network map of connected devices I can block/unblock devices from there but I would still like the full functionality back.

Simply put- no to both questions. However, it does have more back story.

My mesh system has a pair of w3600 and an x68. After the firmware update to the w3600 and many hours of triage, settings adustments and reboots, we had to change to the x68 as the main and start from there.  The w3600 Parental Controls were never adequately restored in the w3600. In the process of trying to fix the issue I subscribed to HomeShield. It did not make any difference. This may be my faulty memory but I think features that were included with the Parental Controls in the w3600 before the firmware update are now only offered through the HomeShield subscription.

The x68 has older firmware but seems to be working. I'm reviewing the HomeShield subscripiton and deciding whether or not to keep it beyond the trial period.

Given the time that it took for me it would have been easier to just start with a whole new system. Unless TP-Link offered a free upgraded system I doubt I would go with them in the future.
