TPLINK AX50 1.1.1 Build 20250917 rel.63889(4555)
Hi,
With the 1.1.1 Build 20250917 rel.63889(4555) firmware update for the Archer AX50, the 160 MHz option on the 5 GHz band disappears. Also, the bundled OpenVPN settings are dated and should be brought up to current best practices.
Remove/replace:
-
cipher AES-128-CBC → switch to AEAD (AES-GCM).
 -
comp-lzo adaptive → compression is obsolete; remove it.
 -
float → not needed in most setups.
 -
remote-cert-tls server → replace with stricter name verification.

Add/update:
-
data-ciphers AES-256-GCM:AES-128-GCM
 -
data-ciphers-fallback AES-128-CBC (optional legacy fallback)
 -
auth SHA256
 -
verify-x509-name server name
 -
Explicit remote <server_address> <port>
 -
verb 3 (reasonable logging)

Personal opinion:
It would also be a good idea for TP-Link to include OneMesh support in the Archer AX50, especially considering that lower-end models like the AX10 or AX20 already have it. This would make the AX50 lineup more consistent and appealing for users who want seamless mesh integration without downgrading to less powerful hardware.
Thanks

Hi, @NLV
According to TP-Link’s policy, unfortunately, I can’t share the firmware file directly.
To get it properly, you’ll need to open a support ticket or ask mod to escalate your case to the appropriate department.
When contacting support, I recommend that you mention FORUM 844776 in your message.
That way, the support agent handling your case will know it needs to be escalated, since this issue has already been discussed in the forum.
Several users have reported instability issues with firmware 1.1.1, and TP-Link support has already provided them with a bridge firmware that allows rolling back to a stable version. However, because of company policy and confidentiality, those users are not allowed to share the file publicly.
Otherwise, it’s very likely you’ll only receive a basic response, like the one I initially got (changing DNS, replacing the Ethernet cable, and testing a direct connection), and your case may remain unresolved until it’s escalated

Hello@Alohomora ,
Is your network topology as below:
(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )
What is the network connection type on the AX50? PPPOE or dynamic IP? Have you set bridge mode on the HUAWEI EG8010H?
Have you tried the firmware that our team sent you on October 29th?

Hello @NLV ,
Thanks for your feedback.
May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:
ISP modem—router )))((( client devices
(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )
Please tell me who your ISP is? What is the model of the ISP modem( or ONT)?
Please let me know the type of internet connection on your router: PPPoE or dynamic IP.
I will send you the firmware via Message, and let me know if it can restore stability to the router.

Dynamic IP address.
ISP — router (the router periodically stops transmitting the signal completely).
I am from the CIS countries, and I do not know the device model.
Today I woke up and saw the red indicator on the router again, just like before.
After a reboot, the problem temporarily disappears.

I've got also issues with the router since the firmware update.
It cannot even reach 1gigabit anymore over the cable, when connecting my modem directly to my pc there's no issue and I reach the solid 1gigabit, but as soon as the router comes in between it now reaches around 700mbit (with effort). This wasn't the case with the older version firmware.
I've tried reaching out to support like others, mentioned this topic, but they refuse to give it to me and when I questioned why, they just closed the ticket and ignored me.
So could you please also send me the method to revert back to the older firmware please?
