Smart action Tapo cameras - alram enable/disable
I would like to ask what Tapo models allow for smart actions on the camera to disable/enable the alarm. Because currently my Tapo Camera C310 only supports enabling and disabling privacy mode. If I would like to disable the alarm by smart actions but keep camera events detection on, it is not possible. Honestly, this is a little bit disappointing.

Currently, the Tapo cameras do not support the feature to turn the alarm feature on/off via Smart Action.
Could you please describe the detailed usage scenario you want to achieve? I'll check if other options can meet your requirements.

My scenario is :
1. The camera has continuously enabled person detection and motion detection to record all events.
2. When I leave home, the camera alarm is enabled by a smart action shortcut.
3. When it detects the person during my absence, it starts an alarm.
4. When I come back home, I disable the alarm through the smart action shortcut, but the camera is still recording and detecting events like a person or motion.

You can achieve your scenario via the Home and Away mode feature on the Tapo camera.
How to edit Home and Away Mode for Tapo Cameras on the Tapo app
After configuring the Home and Away modes in the Tapo app, you can tap between Home and Away modes to disable or enable the camera's alarm feature. (When configuring the home and away mode, please also configure the camera's detection and notification functions; they can be the same within the two modes if you do not have other requirements.)

@Solla-topee Thank you for your answer. But I think this will not work with my scenario.
1. Home Mode and Home Away do not work with smart actions; you cannot use them in smart actions.
2. The alarm works for all detections at once. I want to enable all detections, but only activate the alarm in the event of person detection.

Hi,
Since you mentioned enabling/disabling the camera's alarm feature by a smart action shortcut, which requires tapping the shortcut entry in the Tapo app to take effect, it's similar to tapping a home or away mode card in the Tapo app to apply the home or away mode settings to the cameras.
Some camera models' Alarm feature allows setting the Alarm Event Type. For example, when you select Person Detection only, the camera will alarm only when it detects a person, but it won't affect the Detection feature. If your camera does not have this option, it may support this feature via firmware updates in the future.
