Hello @Ranger43 ,

Welcome to our community.

When did you buy the adapter? Have you tried a different PC for comparison?

  • There might be a Wi-Fi on/off button on some computers. Make sure it’s switched on.
  • Enable WAC (skip if you don’t know where to find it). Right click on My Computer>>Manage>>Computer Management>>Services>>WLAN AutoConfig>>General>>Ensure the Startup type as Automatic >>Start>>OK

  @Ranger43

It sounds like your Archer TBE550E isn’t being detected consistently at boot. Common causes:

  1. PCIe slot power initialization – try a different PCIe slot if available.

  2. Fast Startup in Windows 11 – disable it:

    • Settings → System → Power & battery → Additional power settings → Choose what the power buttons do → Turn off fast startup.

  3. Driver initialization – make sure you’re using the latest drivers from TP-Link, not Windows default.

  4. BIOS/UEFI settings – check that the PCIe slot is fully enabled and no power saving options are active.

  5. Firmware updates – update motherboard BIOS to improve device detection.

If it still fails, the card may have intermittent hardware issues. Testing in another PC can confirm this.
