C425 Firmware not Updating and diffent on both cameras
I have two C425's bought at the same time.
They have different Firmware Version's and they both say they are up to date, whether I check for update in the individual cameras, or via the Me option on the Home screen
But reading other threads it seem both are way out of date.
Please advise. Thank you

The product firmware version may vary for the same model if it has different hardware versions. This article should answer most of your questions, take a look. Common questions about the TP-Link camera's firmware

@Wayne-TP
Thank you Wayne.
They are the same hardware versions.
So according to the one answer in the link, I may need to wait 2-3 more weeks for them to get to the same level as each other.
And what do I do if that never happens?
Plus that does not explain why they are both so far down level from the current version?

According to this link from February 2025 (9 month ago) the current version is 1.2.24.
Mine are not even close?

@David_G116 Hello, I have the exact same problem as you, except mines are in version 1.1.7 and 1.2.0 ...
I just bought a package of 2 Tapo C425 V2 cameras ( Tapo C425 V2 2-pack ) that I received yesterday. One upgraded its firmware during the setup process, whereas the other one never found any update available (when manually asking to check for update it says the firmware is up to date).
So here are the current versions of my two cameras, which come from the same package:
Camera 1:
========
Model: C425
Hardware version: 2.0
Firmware version: 1.2.0 Build 250914 Rel.41594n
Camera 2:
========
Model: C425
Hardware version: 2.0
Firmware version: 1.1.7 Build 250624 Rel.46229n
I can't find a way to force Camera 2 to update its firmware, even though it has the exact same hardware version as the first one. From this page I understand that firmware 1.2.0 may still be in the rollout phase, but why would it prevent the manual update attempts ?
Also I can't find any information about this firmware 1.1.7, which doesn't even seem to exist according to the official TP-Link support download page for Tapo C425 .
Can someone explain what's going on here ?
Thank you.

Version 1.2.0 is a recently released update for Tapo C425 V2. According to my records, it hasn’t been fully rolled out yet. New firmware typically follows a phased release approach, gradually reaching all devices. It’s normal for some devices not to receive the update immediately. The full rollout may take several weeks or months.
@Ouno Firmware versions listed on the official website exclude factory-installed versions, beta builds, and certain unreleased updates (including those paused or canceled due to critical updates, which may be replaced by newer versions). Don’t worry about firmware version differences. If you encounter any issues with your device, feel free to share the problem for discussion. There’s no need to focus too much on the firmware version.

Thank you Wayne, read and understood.
Just curous, when you say "weeks to months" for the rollout on average what is the typical period of time to date?
