Model: Tapo H500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Latest

The solution of the Tapo H500 to stream cameras to a TV screen via the H500 is not working very stable.

I have 4 cameras: 3x 3MP Tapo camera and 1x 4K Tapo camera.

The solution that it needs the phone to work is not how I would like.

I either want the camera streams to work via a 'chromecast like' functionality but ideally I want it to be hardware based.

Now I need the phone and it is not at all working. All kind of hickups, because it is via the Tapo App on my phone (so all in SW) etc.

If I would have known this, I would not have bought the Tapo H500, because this not at all working like I expect from Tapo.

Tapo H500 has the latest firmware available at 29-11-2025.

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon.
  1. What are the model number and hardware version of your Tapo Cameras?
  2. Please describe the detailed phenomenon you encountered when watching the cameras' live feeds on your TV via HDMI so I can better help you.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee

2x Tapo Doorbell D235 V1.0 firmware version 1.2.1

2x Tapo C530WS V2.0 firmware version 1.3.3

If I connect the Tapo H500 via HDMI cable to my 4K TV, I can see each individual camera.

If I do a grid (4 cameras at once), this is not at all performing.

I think two simultaneous cameras seems possible, but if I connect more there are all kind of hick-ups.

Is there a possibility to upload a small movie of the result which I am seeing?

P.S. Everything except the two doorbells is connected via gigabit ethernet wires.
