Hello Team

I have a Archer AX73 Router with an RE550 v1.0 as and EasyMesh extender and i want to know, if a can force my PC (which reach the router via Wifi6 in 5Ghz with no problems) to connect to the router instead of connecting through the extender. I loose have of my internet speed because my PC always connects to the extender and i don't find any options in the backend.

Would be great if someone could help me out here.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Daneras

Hi,

Unfortunately, such an option does not exist on T-Link's Archer routers.

You could try if moving the RE550 a bit farther away from the PC makes the PC connect to the AX73. That's pretty much all you can do.

A possible workaround would be to activate the 5 GHz IoT network on the AX73 and connect your PC to that network.

Currently TP-Link's routers do not extend the main router's IoT network to the EasyMesh satellites, which means clients connected to the IoT network will only connect to the main router.

  @woozle Hello Woozle

Many thanks for your reply. A bit further would be no problem but i think the other way i can do is to deactivate EasyMesh, set the extender as normal extender and only send the 2.4 GHz  network over it. Therefore all devices which using 5 GHz are connected to the Archer.

Have a great day.

Thats sounds like a plan. I never set up a IoT network, so i have to google it first, but thanks for the idea, i'll try it.

The "IoT Network" options should be easily visible in the "Wireless" menu, provided the feature exists on the AX73 V2. TP-Link has not implemented it on all their router models.
