In your situation, you can set the video mode to Auto on the camera's Live View page, then select Full-Color Mode on the Night Mode Settings page. Then, the camera switches between Day and Night modes based on ambient light. When the camera goes into Night Mode at night, it turns on the spotlight for full-color images when awakened by an event or app access, and turns off the spotlight when entering sleep mode.
