Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version:

It would be very useful, to add a feauture that allows that the camera sends a push-notification once a noise has been detected. Currently it only works for for baby or barking. Why not enable it for any sound? That would be very useful for door bells.

  @NicoTapo

Hi,
Generally, you can visit the camera's specifications page on our official website to see which detection types it supports before purchasing.

For your feature request to be able to detect any sound with the camera, could you please describe the specific usage scenarios for evaluation?

Best Regards

Just got the camera and am disappointed I can't set up detection of any and all sounds, but just baby crying.

Also would be useful for smoke detectors, fire alarms and burglar alarms. In fact, ANY sudden load noise should be able to cause an alert.

  @Solla-topee My use cases for sound detections:

1) Alert when any sound at all is detected: detect if critters got into my shed
2) Alert when sounds are over a given threshold: detect if Something Bad Has Happened That I Need To Care About (I.E. train derailment, wildfire fire siren, etc.)

3) Alert when a constant repetitive sound is detected: detect audio alarms from my IT stack (RAID card alarms, thermal overlimit, etc.)

4) Alert when a short but repetitive sound is detected: have an alert pop up on our phones when the microwave/oven/smoker/rice cooker/air fryer/etc. beeps).

Bonus points if the audio detection can determine "is this noise a cat fight", because I rescue feral cats, and there are always new ones showing up which frequently get into fights with colony members. I could probably do that with "alert when sounds are over a given threshold", but it would be cooler if it could actually say "this sounds like an angry cat".

This should be easily implemented, as TP-Link just needs to turn off the AI filtering of the sound. Please make this usable for us. Just a plain soun detection with a customizable treshold. When we aren't home I need to get a notification if the indoor cameras detect any noise. Not only glass breaking, baby crying or dog barking.
