Hi, firstly my knowledge of this subject is limited so please bare with me. Based in the UK my ISP is Virgin 1000mbps and Im using my hub 4 in modem mode

which is connected to my Ax 72 router. I have a couple of dead spots in the house where the wifi is limited/slow occasionally drops out. I would like to increase the reliability in these areas.

I have done a bit of research to establish how to go about it but have got confused whether its a onemesh, decomesh.easymesh or extenders I need. I am on a budget and want to keep the AX72. Can anybody offer advise on what I need to purchase. Cheers Herman,

PS I still have my old Archer C7 have read somewhere that this could be used as an access point but I think it will only work if hard wired to my AX72 which I can't do.

Any advise would be great.

Hello @Herman01 ,

Welcome to our community.

First, based on the Archer C7's specification, we can see that the C7 supports Router Mode and Access Point Mode. Therefore, as you mentioned, the Archer C7 can only extend the network via a wired connection to the Archer AX72.

If you don't need a mesh network, use the Archer C7 to extend your network directly. If you need to extend network coverage further, consider adding a Range Extender (wireless network extension) or an Access Point (wired network extension).

The Archer AX72 already supports EasyMesh and OneMesh. If you plan to create a mesh network, you can also consider adding an EasyMesh Device or OneMesh Device.

For information on the relationship between EasyMesh, OneMesh, and other technologies, you can refer to TP-Link Deco Mesh vs EasyMesh vs OneMesh vs Omada Mesh What's the Difference? and Can Deco Mesh, OneMesh, EasyMesh and Omada Mesh products work together?
