I am a software developer and I work from home. A lot of my job is working with Azure and writing applications to run in Azure. Every day I start with my laptop connected via ethernet cable to the X55 in my office and after a few hours I stop being able to access Azure. If I take the cable out then the laptop switches to wireless (I guess changes MAC address) and I can continue but after a while that stops working too.

 

To get around this, would setting up VPN client on the DECO system help?

Would there be any error message when the device failed to access Azure?

 

It is recommended to update to the 1.8.0 firmware first:

Deco X50_V1_1.8.0 Significantly Expanded the Client Connection Details and Added Channel Selection

It's quite weird, it affects Microsoft services, and eventually nothing is accessible. For example today at the moment Teams is not sending my messages, so I disconnect my cable and switch to WiFi and the messages are now sent. Azure is working for now but I will get a no internet message on the azure site after a while but other web sites still work.

I have an AWS VM I use to access Azure as my backup, but this is annoying so that's why I was wondering if a VPN would get around what Virgin are doing?

My X55 is on the latest (1.7.1) according to the Deco app.
