Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250731 Rel. 15505

Hi,

I've had problems with the 6GHz wifi of my Deco BE85. All my wifi6e compatible units (Samsung S24 Plus, Samsung S24 FE and Pixel 9) will not connect to the 6GHz band. Not previously when the band were separated or now when they are combined.

During the holidays I decided to upgrade my deco system with a Deco BE65 and removed my old Deco X60's. Before I had one Deco BE85 as the main unit and two X60's as satellites.  Now I only have the BE85 as my main unit and the BE65 as satellite.

To my big surprise all wifi6e units started using the 6GHz band of the BE65 directly and it works perfectly which is nice. But all three units still refuse to connect to the 6GHz of the BE85, which is really weird.

I have tried to reset the BE85 but it doesn't help, it is still the same, all units just refuse to connec to the 6GHz band on the BE85, but works perfeclty on the BE65. (The BE 65 was upgraded to the latest firmware when I installed it)

There must be some issue with the BE85 firmware, before I upgraded I just thought the problems where with the clients and TPLink products but now it can't be blamed on the clients.

Any suggestions?

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

If you manually set the Connection Preference to the main Deco BE85, would it be able to force these 6GHz devices connected to BE85?

Or when you're available, can you help me run a simple test:

  • Temporarily power off both satellite Deco BE65.
  • Test whether the Samsung phones can detect the 6GHz SSID of BE85. (It would be better to use a separate SSID for the 6GHz network.)

By the way, are both Deco units and Samsung devices phased out from the local stores?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Thank you for your reply.

If I turn off the Deco BE65 satelittes neither the Pixel 9 or Samsung phones can connect to the 6GHz they work fine on the 5GHz and connects fine. They see the band but just refuses to connect to 6GHz. I first tried with connection preference and if I force it to 6GHz on the BE85 the clients will not connect, they tries but then fail.

I've tried both with a separete 6GHz SSID and combined but still the same result. Once the clients connect to the BE65 the 6GHz band works perfectly.

Yes everything is bought from local stores in Sweden.
