Deco BE25 (BE3600) do not negociate 2.5 Gbps ethernet speed
I have a switch Unifi USW-Pro-48 which has 4 SFP+ (10 Gbps) ports, equipped with SFP+ module (compliant with 10 Gbps speed).
While connecting my BE25 on those ports, with cat. 7 RJ45 cables, it only negociate 1 Gbps speed.
Looking on the community, it seems I am not the only one have the same issue.
Is this a known issue ? Is there a fix to solve this ?
Thanks

Hi @David-TP
Looking into Unifi community, it is confirmed that SPF+ ports only support 1G or 10G connection, as mentioned by Alexander in a previous reply.
The 2.5G option is a firmware bug, it should not be present. If I force the value, the Deco simply disconnect.
People mentioned that the SPF+/RJ45 module should be able to do the 10G->2.5G conversion by itself, as it is supposed to act as a "mini-switch".
Some people have the same issue, other don't. Might be something related to firmware...
I tried with 2 out of 3 of the BE25 (I do not need the last one), and they behave the same.
I'll try to get my hands on a 2.5G switch and see if the BE25s are negociating the proper speed.
Anyway, not big trouble here, no impact on everyday use for the moment.
Thanks for the reply.

Additional information : my switch is setup on automatic speed negociation and the Deco are working in Access Point mode.

According to hardware specs for switch Unifi USW-Pro-48 I can find on the Internet, that switch does not support 2.5Gbps speed. It supports 10Gbps or 1Gbps. For that reason BE25 is forced to connect to switch at gigabit speed.
If you want speeds faster that gigabit between Deco unit and switch, you'll need to replace BE25 with Deco model that has 10Gbps Ethernet port(s).

Thanks for the reply.
It does indeed not mention 2.5G and 5G on the tech specs. But it does offers me the 2.5G choice in the menu, which is strange (see picture).
I'll cross check with Unifi support.
Cheers

Hi, if you manually set the port link speed to "2.5Gbps", would it force the Deco BE25 finally negotiate 2.5Gbps Ethernet speed?
By the way, did you run into a similar issue on all three Deco BE25s?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.
