Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

I have a Deco XE5300 mesh network with 4 nodes.  The 4th node is a model X20 I added in the basement as the signal was weak.  I work right next to this basement node and my laptop refuses to connect to it.  My iPhone has no problem connecting to it when I am near.  I tried to specify the connection for my laptop to this node and it still does not connect.   Any advice?

Since this is a specific device (your laptop) having trouble connecting to the Deco network, please try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Access Control: Go to the Deco app > MORE > Access Control (Allow List or Block List), and check if your laptop is mistakenly blocked.

2. Delete the device from the client list: Go to the Deco app > Client List (check the offline client list) > Find your laptop (if it exists) > Delete it. This will remove its connection preference settings which might potentially be causing the issue.

3. Disable Fast Roaming: Go to the Deco app > MORE > Advanced > Fast Roaming, and disable fast roaming.

4. Change encryption method: Go to the Deco app > MORE > Wi-Fi settings, and change the main network encryption method to WPA2/WPA-PSK, then try connecting your laptop to the Deco Wi-Fi again.

5. Update Wi-Fi driver: Update the Wi-Fi driver on your laptop to the latest version available from the manufacturer's website.

These steps should help resolve the connection issue with your laptop. The Wi-Fi driver update and disabling fast roaming are often the most effective solutions for laptop-specific connectivity problems.

Hi,
@HelpFixDecoApp  Thank you for your suggestions.

@JmcG When the laptop is near the basement Deco, please also try to disable the Wi-Fi on it, then enable the Wi-Fi again, and check if it will connect to the basement Deco.

Best Regards
