Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.17

I have been using this camera for a couple of years without issue at 1920 x 1080.

after the last firmware update, the picture quality is TERRIBLE. the display is running at 640 x 360.

Worse, the Video Quality option in the Settings menu has been removed.

Now switching between LQ and HQ in the App simply swaps between 640x300 and 640x360

This seems like an entirely cynical attempt to force an upgrade. Why use a firmware update to ruin the quality of a previously purchased device.

  @TheoJones

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.

First, we’d like to clarify that this firmware update did not introduce any changes to the video resolution behavior of the Tapo C200. This model has not included a “Video Quality” option under Device Settings. Historically, the C200 has always switched between High Quality (HQ) and Low Quality (LQ) directly from the Live View page, rather than via a separate setting menu.

Regarding your observation that switching between HQ and LQ now appears to change between 640×360 and 640×300, could you please let us know how this resolution was determined?

Best Regards,
